"The Cool One to Bike"

Denmark's know-how in the field of sustainable development and green living is highlighted on the Green City bike tour.
Enjoy awesome urban discoveries and cycling at its finest. Cool, green living with friendly architecture, clean water environments and inviting public spaces unfolds as we cruise along Copenhagen’s integrated bike lane system. The tour shows the many different worlds of the one city and highlights Copenhagen´s greatest asset: her livability for the residents. Refreshment stop at the Number8 residential complex at Ørestad – awarded the World Association of Architects ultimate prize for finest new building worldwide in 2011.

Tour description:

Route design: Bike Mike
Peddling from the Bike Mike base to the Black Diamond, heading south along the clean harbor environment, passing the Crystal, crossing the clean harbor water on “Bryggebroen” – bike & pedestrian bridge only – to Islands Brygge and the Gemini complex. “Nokken” is next, then tranquility of Copenhagen countryside before crossing for a look around the “Amsterdam” of Copenhagen: Sluseholmen. The wide open spaces of Kalvebod Fælled awaits with views to some of Denmark´s many windturbines before arriving to Ørestad: City of the Future. Refreshment stop at Café 8 while taking in the phenomenal architecture of Danish architect studio BIG´s Number8 residential, challenging urban living. Cycling through Ørestad´s extravaganza of world class architecture, onwards crossing over the island of Amager through a labyrinth of bike lanes/trails. Feeling the sea breeze and viewing Sweden across from Amager Strandpark - Copenhagen's wonderful beach park. Along the canals of Holmen then cycling onto the grounds of Christiania. Homeward bound through  Christianshavn with a stop at the Noma restaurant for a grand view of the harbor before cruising through the old city back to base.
