Steer clear of the traditional tourist trail sights and discover the Danish way of life while being clued-up on Denmarks equality based vision for building a liveable society. This tour was inspired by a Big Four CEO who stopped by from Silicon Valley with a taste for a different kind of tour:
“Mike, I don’t want to see any castles and please keep me as far away from the Little Mermaid as possible. I want to cycle through the neighbourhoods where the Danes are living. I want to hear about Denmarks universal education and healthcare systems”
This tour will focus on the areas of Nørrebro, Northwest and Vesterbro. We’ll see “Superkilen”, Bjørn Nørgaards residential masterpiece on Bispebjerg, Grundtvigs church, the Meat Packing district and the locals hang out park: “Fælledparken”.
See where the Danes live, shop, dine and play and take in the vibe of our diverse ethnic melting pot. Cycle through a hospital and public school as we dive into detail on healthcare and education the Danish way. We’ll then visit the foundation of Denmark today, a folk high school – folkehøjskole.
The Local Tour is a uniquely educational and authentic “made in Denmark” experience. Served up fresh by a local.
